From solo pampering to group singalongs, there are countless ways to unwind during a Carnival cruise.
If you’ve been dreaming of a truly stress-free holiday, you’re not alone. A new survey by Carnival of more than 1,200 Australians reveals that two-thirds of us miss that relaxed feeling a holiday provides.
Australians cited perks such as not having to cook, sleeping in and not having to check emails as defining holiday features, suggesting that what many of us need after a challenging 12+ months is an opportunity to forget about the daily grind – even if it’s just for a few days.
Luckily, Carnival’s vessels are bursting with endless activities – 45+ per day – to fill your days and a range of #seayourbackyard itineraries have been designed to help you relax and recharge. Here are five activities that will melt away your stress in no time.
1. Treat yourself to a spa visit
The spas aboard Carnival vessels don’t just offer traditional massages and facials – there’s a wide range of speciality treatments, too, from deeply restorative full-body wraps to transcendent hot stone therapies. Can’t decide? Take a seat in the reception area and enjoy the soothing ambience while you browse the menu, or chat to one of our expert therapists about the ideal treatment for your concerns.
2. Relish the privacy of the adults-only Serenity Retreat
Book the kids in to one of Carnival’s free kids clubs and enjoy some grown-up time at the Serenity Retreat, a zone designed specifically for grown-up relaxation. Maybe you’d like to doze in a day bed while a gentle sea breeze washes over you, or share perfectly mixed cocktails, to chilled live beats with your partner while admiring the ocean… or maybe you simply want an opportunity to finally finish reading that novel. Whatever takes your fancy, Serenity is the perfect setting.
3. Sing along to one of your favourite stage shows
Sometimes, the best way to forget about the stresses of daily life is to immerse yourself in great entertainment – and there’s plenty of it aboard a Carnival cruise. Catch full-scale Broadway-style productions, featuring world-class performers and sensational sets and costumes. And don’t be shy: at these shows, audience participation is actively encouraged.
4. Take your time at the Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea Party
Nothing says “relax” quite like sipping tea from fine porcelain cups and grazing on delectable canapés and cakes. There’s also champagne at every Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea Party for those adults who are feeling extra-festive. And the kids will love it when the Queen of Hearts, the white rabbit and Alice herself make a special appearance. When it comes to leisurely afternoon activities, this one is hard to beat.
5. Kick back in one of the 16 Bars & Lounges
You’ll never be bored onboard with so many venues to choose from day and night. During the day, find yourself poolside lounging where your biggest decision is whether to visit the BlueIguana Tequila Bar or RedFrog Rum Bar. In the afternoon, steal away for a couple of hours and indulge in a Mixology Class at Alchemy Bar, where craft cocktails await you. Later in the evening, there are so many options to celebrate the night: karaoke in the RedFrog Pub; table service in the Punchliner Comedy Club; plus a nightclub to top it off.
