Do you have a big celebration coming up? Not sure what to do? Whether it be a birthday bash, engagement party, an anniversary, or even a wedding, why not take to the high-seas for a nautical celebration with family and friends.
Carnival has introduced a selection of short cruises that are the ideal way to bring people together for a celebration.
These shorter cruises are also the perfect sampler for cruise novices to get a first taste of life at sea.
And with the cruises running for three to five nights (and often over weekends) you don’t need to blow all your holidays at once – and you will still manage to come home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
Carnival has a great choice of sampler cruises on offer. You can set sail on a five-night cruise to Tasmania; head north to sun-kissed south-east Queensland where you can stop at the relaxed beach town of Mooloolaba; or drop anchor off the white sandy beaches of Moreton Island’s Tangalooma Resort. These four-day cruises out of Sydney are a sun-seeker’s dream.
Carnival has something for everyone so when we say bring the whole family we mean it. No matter what the age of your party’s guests Carnival will look after them. There’s a great range of on-board multi-generational entertainment for adults at Broadway-style shows (who can resist 80s Pop to the Max!), comedy shows, live music, dance classes, craft classes, bingo or outdoor movies. There is even a fully locked and loaded casino where you can try your hand at poker, roulette, black jack – or take your chances on the pokies.
As for the bars, there are too many to name but you must try the recently opened Alchemy Bar (on carnival Spirit) where Carnival’s dream team of mixologists can tailor-make you a cocktail for your special celebration. With its sophisticated ambience and comfy leather couches it’s the perfect place to kick off your celebratory festivities. If you are looking for a post dinner bar where you can relax and enjoy a nightcap with good vibes, the Piano Bar is for you. Sports lovers too, are well catered for in the sports bar with its large flat screen TVs streaming live your favourite sports.
Kids too are well catered for with three different age specific kids’ clubs and two teen clubs. If you can tear your children away from kids’ clubs why not head to the top deck for some family fun in the waterpark. You can relax in the adult’s only Serenity™ Retreat and leave them to scream their way down the fastest and steepest water-slide at sea, Green Thunder.
One of the hardest decisions you will need to make is where you would like to hold your special celebration dinner.
Will it be in the Empire Dining room with its attentive wait service, sparking chandeliers, brocade seating and art deco feel – all included as part of your cruise fare? A tip is to let the Maître d’ know that you are celebrating a special occasion, and the team will be sure to add some special touches to make sure it’s a night to remember.
Or will you opt for the sophistication of the two-level Nouveau Restaurant where you can dine under the stars in the glass-domed dining room (for a nominal charge of $45pp). Here you can taste the finest cuts of beef and enjoy the freshest lobster hand-picked by Carnival’s chefs. If you are a wine connoisseur you will be impressed with the selection of wine available.
But, if you really want to impress your party guests book your group in for a night to remember at The Chef’s Table*. Hosted by Carnival’s Chef de Cuisine, this evening of pure indulgence will take your taste buds on a journey of delight. This multi-course dinner kicks off with a glass of Champagne and hors d’oeuvres while touring the ship’s kitchen before settling down for an evening of culinary pleasure.
And of course every special occasion needs a mouth-watering cake. At Cherry on Top, you will find a selection of delicious cakes and they can even organise an impressive bouquet of flowers for your loved one.
Carnival loves to help you celebrate and takes delight in exceeding its guests’ expectations.
