For me planning and packing to go on a holiday can be just as exciting as actually getting there. As I have been on the Melbourne Cup Cruise once before I have a few ideas as to some great items you can pack to make your Melbourne Cup Cruise a winner!

Start with all the things you personally need to relax! Make sure you have you have a book or magazine for those quiet moments you will be able to take on the Serenity Deck. One of my favourite spots! Also don’t forget your swimmers and sarong to totally unwind poolside.

While you are on board you will be invited to Elegant Night. So now is the time to pull out that best formal gown or suit you’ve only worn once and make sure you bring it with you. It will be so much fun to dress up and head to dinner in Empire restaurant!

Another great thing to bring might be a pumpkin or a broomstick! Hmm you’re probably wondering why? Because Carnival are throwing a Halloween Party and you can bring your favourite costume with you! This event will a great night on board for the whole family.

It’s all about dressing up when you book your tickets for Carnival’s Melbourne Cup Cruise, but before you even get to the racetrack there will be a Mad Hatters Tea Party on board where you can come with any kind of hat you like! I can tell you personally that the High Tea served on a Carnival Cruise is not to be missed!

Then of course you need to prepare for the days you get to spend at the races. You will have the opportunity to head to Oaks Day and of course the Melbourne Cup. You will no doubt already be planning your outfit but don’t forget to pack all the accessories and bits and pieces you will need on the day.

This cruise will be amazing experience and it’s not long now. Come ready to relax, enjoy incredible food, have some fun dressing up from elegant evening wear to fancy dress!

Happy packing.
